JENNIFER POHLSON

Director of Special Services
I am a dedicated educator that has served in the area of special education my entire career.  My focus has always been on fostering success and providing the resources and guidance necessary for both students and educators to achieve success.

I hold a BA in K-6 Elementary Education and K-8 Special Education, an endorsement in PK-12 Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and a MA in Administration with a focus on PK-8 Principalship.

I began my journey in 2000 as an elementary special education teacher, and in 2008, I transitioned into school administration. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Special Education Director, Principal, and Early Childhood Director. I’m passionate about coaching and mentoring special educators and advocating for students to ensure they thrive. I am currently working on my Educational Specialist, Superintendency through the University of Nebraska, Kearney.

I serve as a CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Instructor, helping staff develop the skills to manage challenging situations with care and respect.  I am also a member of the ESU 16 Crisis Team and Autism Team.  I have a passion for working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Behavior Impairments.

When I’m not working, I love being a grandma, hanging out at home with my dogs and spending time at Lake McConaughey with my family.
