Virtual training at it's finest! We're reviewing concepts around the Science of Reading. Yes, those foundational skills ARE important! Louisa Moats is right, teaching reading is rocket science. Thankfully, we're getting some tools to help us be rocket scientists. #WhatInspirESU


An ESU 16 High Ability Learner workshop went on the road to Hershey School on Thursday Dec.3 for the HAL students in grades 3-6. There were "Puzzles Galore" and the kids did a great job of using all sorts of teamwork, creativity, communication and problem solving skills! A great time was had by all, and we are already making plans for next time!!




On Wednesday December 2nd, 60 professionals gathered to learn about Emotional Poverty with presenter Jennifer Nehl. Thank you Jennifer for a great day!


There were puzzles galore on Wednesday December 2 in Hershey! But even all those puzzles did not stop nine 7th and 8th grade High Ability Learners. They put their skills to work and solved them all! They had a lot of fun and came up with some great ideas for the next time we meet!
Usually HAL students from around the ESU 16 area come together at the ESU building for a day of activities and challenges, but this year things look a bit different. HAL programs have become mobile and are traveling out to schools so students can still receive the benefits of the extra programming! We aren't going to let Covid stop us!!
