Why do we need speech-language pathologists? Speaking is complex - one of the most complex and rapid motor behaviors. It requires the coordination of over 100 muscles. This video highlights the tongue but look all the other moving parts! https://youtu.be/fPbJLXaPnZg

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is excited to announce the Nebraska Child Care Stabilization Grant Application is now available! The application portal launched today, Monday, October 25, 2021. This NEW grant opportunity is being made available to licensed child care programs who meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the application. Providers may obtain detailed information about the program by visiting the Child Care Stabilization Program portal. This Child Care Stabilization Grant, established by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) signed into law on March 11, 2021, provides approximately $143 million dollars in grant funding to the State of Nebraska. Child care is essential for our communities and providers play a critical role in support of the overall Nebraska economy. In response to the urgent need to stabilize the child care sector, this funding gives states, territories, and tribes the resources and opportunity to address the financial burdens faced by child care providers as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Providers may begin the process by visiting the application portal, Child Care Stabilization Program, and creating an account. If you have questions about the program guidelines or application process, please reach out to the Contact Center at (833) 500-8810 between 08:00 am and 05:00 pm CST Monday through Friday. Please note, for providers who need assistance in languages other than English and Spanish, interpretation will be available.
